The stone.

The idea of using stone for ski construction is fully in keeping with the zai philosophy. After all, what could be better than working with the mountain next door — and setting new benchmarks with a natural material available in unlimited quantities? In fact prehistoric stone offers undreamed-of possibilities for ski building, because — when combined with carbon fiber — it has ideal characteristics. This was discovered by TechnoCarbon Technologies of Munich, who developed Carbon Fiber Stone (CFS) material accordingly. The advantages of this new CFS material were immediately incorporated by zai in the first ski with a heart of Grisons stone: the zai spada.
