Ten years of experience as a skiing instructor, his membership of the Swiss Skiing Instructor Trainer Team and his studies in art in Florence created the man and contributed to his strong character. Simon worked as developer for Völkl and Salomon before founding zai together with three partners in 2003. As creative head of a motivated team he tests the limits – preferably where no one has ever been before. Simon Jacomets aim is to enable a so far unknown joy in movement. That is why he goes in search of materials and technologies until the products are «zai».

When the skiing season begins and you’re at the top of a slope for the first time, what goes through your mind just before you take off? What was on my mind all summer runs through my body.

Birds of a feather flock together.

Describe the summer in Disentis.
A longing for winter with pleasant aspects: running up and down the mountains before jumping into the cool Rhine. Things like that.

Why do people need zai skis?
For skiing. Please don’t use them for playing tennis or football. In fact, people can discover what zai is good for themselves. It’s best to test zai skis. At the zai manufacturing plant we consistently transform values that are important to us. When you buy zai skis an attitude is included in the package.
